About Me
Hello! My name is Monica Lane and I am the Elementary School Math Specialist and Testing Coordinator. I taught 4th Grade Math and Science at AIA for six years before making the shift to supporting teachers in strengthening their instructional strategies, promoting engagement, and increasing student achievement. I have a passion for teaching and supporting self-reflection and growth in others.
My prior experience includes being a 6th Grade English-Language Arts teacher for three years, long-term substitute for 2nd Grade, substitute teacher for Grades K-5th, interventionist for Grades K-5th, Assistant Teacher for 4th Grade, private Math and Reading tutor, and English tutor in Madrid, Spain. I believe all students have the right to an engaging, diverse and challenging education and I continuously strive to provide that for all learners, and now supporting teachers in that mission.
I was born and raised in San Diego. I received a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. I enjoy spending time outdoors in the sunshine, hiking, swimming and going to the beach. I also love going to art museums and exploring new places and trying new things.
